13 nights through Mexico

The full length of the Baja peninsula and back, fourteen days from Calexico in California to Cabo San Lucas and north again, with a support truck the whole way. Vehicles and trailers are left in secure parking at the border before the group crosses.

The first day sets the pattern: 125 miles to San Felipe, a beachfront hotel and a seafood welcome dinner. After that the route works south through the desert and along the Pacific shore, taking in Mission Borja, one of the Spanish missions that are the oldest European buildings on the peninsula, and San Ignacio, where grey whales come into the lagoon to calve and whale watching is included.

Santa Rosalia on the Sea of Cortez follows, then Loreto and the mountain road up to Mission San Javier, which is the finest of the missions and the hardest to reach. San Carlos and La Paz come next, then Cabo San Lucas gets three days with beach time built in, before the northbound leg returns through Mulege, Loreto and Guerrero Negro to San Felipe.

Baja Expedition include lodging every night, all meals, a daily tank of fuel, the support truck and gear transport, lead and chase guides, mechanical support, first-aid certified staff, the secure parking at Calexico, the whale watching, deep-sea fishing and nightly wifi.
