Miami - Tampa - Fort Myers Motorcycle Tour

Three days to cross Florida twice. Two nights, around 525 miles, and a loop out of Miami that runs straight through the Everglades to the Gulf, north to Tampa, and back down the Atlantic coast.

The first day is easily the most memorable of the three. The Tamiami Trail cuts straight across the Everglades, a two-lane road with sawgrass marsh on both sides for mile after mile and alligators regularly visible from the roadside canals, then reaches Naples and the Gulf coast before Fort Myers. It is only 145 miles and it feels nothing like the rest of the state.

The middle day is a short 130-mile run north along the Gulf to Tampa, which leaves most of the afternoon free to do very little. The final day is the long one at 250 miles, heading back across the peninsula to Fort Pierce and then down the Atlantic shore through Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale into Miami.

EAGLERIDER provides the bike and books both nights, with Harley-Davidson touring models alongside Triumph and BMW sport machines. Fuel, meals and insurance are separate. One thing worth knowing before booking: the operator sells this tour to pairs only, either two riders sharing a bike or two riders with one each, so it is not currently available to a single rider. For a couple with a long weekend in Miami, it is a quick and genuinely varied way out of the city, and the Everglades crossing on its own would justify the three days.
