Her Ice Force (Levi, Finland)

Four nights at Levi in Finnish Lapland, guided, ice driving in Porsches as a women-only group, with the price quoted on application.

Levi sits above the Arctic Circle and the Porsche Arctic Center there is purpose-built: prepared snow and ice tracks on frozen ground, which is the safest surface in the world on which to learn what a car does at the limit, because everything happens slowly.

Kittila airport opens it, with a shuttle to the Levi Spirit Resort, where the accommodation is private villas with saunas and whirlpools, and a welcome dinner. Three driving days follow, each beginning with a briefing at the Arctic Center and running instructor-led sessions on snow and ice, with track dinners in the evenings and the sauna or yoga optional. The second day shares a lunch with the participants on the companion Her Ice Performance programme, and the third builds to drifting refinement, vehicle dynamics work and a closing driving challenge.

The cars are provided throughout, from 911 Carrera, GTS and Turbo S variants to the electric Taycan, which behaves quite differently on ice and is instructive for that reason. The full inclusions were not itemised on the operator’s page and are worth confirming at booking. The price is given on application. The dates are set by the ice rather than the calendar, which in practice means the depths of winter, when there is very little daylight and the cold does the work of keeping the surface honest. Five days arranged this way is a driving course rather than a holiday, and the villas and the sauna are there because three days of concentration on ice is genuinely tiring.
