Ice Force Intense (Levi, Finland)

Four nights at Levi in Finnish Lapland, guided, ice driving in a Porsche 911 Turbo S with a personal instructor, with the price quoted on application.

The distinction here is exclusivity of time. The car is used by nobody else and the instructor works with one driver only, which in practice roughly doubles the seat time against the group programme and allows the content to be chosen rather than followed.

Kittila airport opens it, with a shuttle to the Hotel Levi Panorama and a welcome dinner at Cloud11. Three driving days follow, each beginning with breakfast and a briefing, then one-to-one instruction built entirely round the driver’s own goals: a particular technique worked at until it sticks, a specific track element repeated, or a progression through the Arctic Center’s circuits at whatever pace suits. Track dinners fill the evenings and a farewell dinner closes it.

The 911 Turbo S is provided for the driver’s sole use throughout; the full inclusions were not itemised on the operator’s page and are worth confirming at booking. The price is given on application, and will sit well above the group programme for obvious reasons. The programme runs in the depths of the northern winter. This is the version to book for anyone who has already done a group ice course and found themselves waiting for a turn, or who has a specific weakness they want addressed rather than a general introduction to low-grip driving. Having the car to yourself also means the tyre pressures and the settings stay where you left them, which on a surface this sensitive makes a real difference.
