Iberian Peninsula Rally: Portugal and Spain's National Parks
Cross by overnight ferry with ORCA-organised whale and dolphin watching, then stay in an 11th-century monastery nicknamed ‘the Escorial of Asturias’ – nine nights across Portugal and Spain’s national parks.
Tell us your trip details and we'll put together a complimentary Stradora Expedition Pack for the journey.
9 nights through Spain
Nine nights through northern Spain and Portugal, driven in the guest’s own supercar, fourteen hundred miles taking in two national parks and two monastery hotels.
The hotels are half the appeal here. An eleventh-century monastery in Asturias and a fourteenth-century Dominican house in the Duero valley are not the sort of places a supercar tour usually ends up, and both are better for it.
The crossing is by overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander, with whale and dolphin watching organised by ORCA on deck, or by lorry transport and a flight to Bilbao. Cangas del Narcea comes first through the Picos de Europa, with a night at the Parador de Corias, a monastery known locally as the Escorial of Asturias. Chaves follows in Portugal, a Roman spa town with Trajan’s bridge still carrying traffic. Porto takes two nights, with the Minho, the port lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia and the Livraria Lello, in a converted perfume factory on the Douro. The Serra da Estrela closes it for two nights, Portugal’s highest range, with the Dao wine region and the Hacienda Zorita near Salamanca.
Seven nights at luxury hotels on dinner, bed and breakfast, two lead hosts with two lead supercars, a printed tour guide with maps and navigation, a professional media team and a graphic pack are all included; lunches, dinners outside the hotels, fuel, the ferry or lorry transport for car and driver, travel insurance and a radio handset are not. The price shown is for one person, with £7,350 quoted for two, both marked provisional by the operator, and a £695 deposit. June 2027 is confirmed. The ferry crossing with the car aboard is quoted separately at around £1,395, which is worth factoring in from the start.
