2 nights through Spain

Two nights through Catalonia’s wine country, guided, rotating through a fleet of fourteen classic Porsches.

The rotation is the product. Rather than being handed one car for three days, guests change every thirty minutes across a collection spanning 1960 to 1995, which over a weekend means driving most of the model line back to back on the same roads.

It opens with a private morning at the Autodromo de Terramar, one of the oldest oval circuits anywhere, built in 1923 and abandoned to the elements for decades, where the briefing and the first test drives take place. The route then runs through the Gaia River vineyards to Altafulla on the coast, with a night at the Boutique Hotel Gran Claustre. The Priorat mountains follow, a small and steep wine region of slate terraces and old Carignan vines, with lunch at Siurana, a village on a cliff edge above a reservoir, and a night at Terra Dominicata among the vineyards. The Penedes closes it, with castles, Roman remains and lunch at Vilafranca del Penedes before the return to Terramar.

The driving of all fourteen cars with insurance, fuel and tolls, two backup Porsches with a mechanics team, three support vehicles with walkie-talkies, eight staff including certified instructors, every breakfast, lunch, dinner and tasting, the hotels and the parking are all included; international flights, airport transfers, extra nights, travel insurance, drinks outside the planned tastings and tips are not. The price shown is per person sharing. Spring and autumn are the seasons, since the Priorat in high summer is extremely hot and the roads are better enjoyed without it. Three days with eight staff to twelve or so guests is an unusual ratio, and it is what allows a fleet of sixty-year-old cars to be driven hard rather than nursed.
