Czech Curves (Self Guided Tour)

Ten days from the Austrian Tyrol through Bavaria and into the Czech Republic, ridden alone rather than in a group. The tour is self-guided, so it can be booked solo, started on any date and ridden at whatever pace suits, and at 2,530 euros it is the cheapest trip in the Edelweiss range.

Regensburg opens it, a Danube city with a medieval stone bridge and an old town that survived the war intact. Karlovy Vary follows across the border, the grandest of the Bohemian spa towns, all colonnades and mineral springs and faded imperial confidence. Prague provides the rest day.

Cesky Krumlov is the best of it. The town sits inside a tight loop of the Vltava beneath an enormous castle, and the valley road down to it is the riding highlight of the trip. Salzburg, Passau and the Bavarian Forest all feature on the wider route, and the roads through the forest are quiet, well surfaced and almost entirely free of tourist traffic.

Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, accommodation at whichever of three tiers the rider picks, from guest houses up to four star superior, and the route materials. There is no guide, by design. Flights are separate and the inclusions are not itemised in full on the operator’s page. Prices run from 2,530 to 2,590 euros per person for 2026 depending on hotel category, and the tour can be extended before or after on request. For a first solo touring holiday abroad, this is an unusually soft landing.
