14 nights through Morocco
Fifteen days from Malaga into Morocco and round it, crossing to Africa by ferry on the first day. The variety is the point: blue mountain towns, the High Atlas, Saharan dunes and two imperial cities in one trip.
Chefchaouen comes first, reached via Ceuta, which is a Spanish enclave on the African mainland and therefore a border crossing without a ferry queue. Chefchaouen is the town painted entirely in shades of blue, stacked up a hillside in the Rif mountains, and it is widely held to be the prettiest place in the country. Azrou follows by way of Ifrane, then Bin el Ouidane, then a rest day in Marrakech for the Djemaa el-Fna and the souks.
The desert leg is the one riders remember. The Street of the Kasbahs leads through the Todra and Dades gorges to Erg Chebbi, a dune field on the edge of the Sahara where the sand rises to 150 metres, with an optional night in a desert camp and a camel ride available. Fes closes the trip with a final rest day and a medina of some nine thousand lanes, which is the largest car-free urban area in the world.
Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, fourteen nights across hotels, kasbahs and riads with the desert camp as an option, a guide and a tour book. Flights are separate, and a guided city tour of Malaga can be added for 390 euros per person with a 50 euro single supplement. Prices are per person for 2026. For a first trip outside Europe on a motorcycle, Morocco is the obvious choice and this is a thorough way to do it.
