12 nights through United States

Twelve nights from New York through New England in a motorhome, arranged for a family, with private guides along the way.

The format is the interesting part: a 25 to 27-foot motorhome for the whole trip, campsites inside the national parks for some of the nights and proper hotels for others, with a private guide laid on at each of the active stops.

New York opens it for a night at 1 Hotel Central Park, then the motorhome is collected at Newburgh. Lake George in the Adirondacks follows for three nights, with a private boat trip, tubing and seventeen miles of guided grade three to five white water on the Hudson. Woodstock in Vermont comes next for two at the inn, with fly fishing available. The White Mountains follow for two, camping inside the forest, with a private guided walk round Mount Washington. Acadia comes next for two at Bar Harbor, with Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the eastern seaboard, and a private stargazing session with an astronomer. Kennebunkport closes it with two nights on Cape Arundel.

The motorhome for twelve nights with a 1,200-mile package, GPS, chairs and insurance, the accommodation, the private transfer to the collection point and all four guided experiences with their gratuities are included; flights, the arrival transfer, most meals, campground fees, resort fees, a refundable 500-dollar deposit and excess mileage at 40 cents a mile are not. The price shown is per person sharing. June to September is the season, since the northern campsites close outside it and the New England roads are no place for a motorhome in snow. Thirteen days with three nights at the first stop gives everyone time to get used to the vehicle before the longer legs begin.
