23 nights through New Zealand

Twenty-three nights split between a New Zealand motorhome trip and a week on a Bali beach, priced for a family.

Auckland takes the first two nights, with an All Blacks experience, the museums and Waiheke. The Coromandel follows, with kayaking through the sea caves at Cathedral Cove and the self-dug hot pools at Hot Water Beach, then Rotorua by way of Hobbiton at Matamata, with rescue kiwis at Rainbow Springs and the mud pools and craters of Te Puia.

Tongariro National Park comes next, then Wellington and the ferry to Abel Tasman, with the rainforest walks and golden beaches. Kaikoura follows, with a swim with the resident dusky dolphins, then Lake Tekapo by way of Christchurch, with the Mount John observatory for the night sky. Queenstown takes three nights at the end of the New Zealand half, by way of a picnic at Lake Wanaka, with mountain biking, a zipline and jet boating available. A flight then carries the family to Nusa Dua in Bali for seven nights on the beach.

Two nights in Auckland, the All Blacks experience, eleven nights of maui Beach motorhome hire sleeping up to four with zero-excess insurance, three nights in Queenstown, the Cathedral Cove kayaking, the Hobbiton tour, the kiwi encounter, Te Puia, the Kaikoura dolphin swim, the observatory and seven nights in Bali with breakfast are all included. Twenty-four days arranged as an active fortnight and then a week doing nothing is about the best shape a family trip can take, and the Bali leg is on the way home rather than a detour. No wildlife sighting can be promised, and the dolphin swim at Kaikoura is weather dependent.
