Peru Motorcycle Tour

Nine nights through the Peruvian Andes, guided, over a thousand kilometres on a motorcycle with the bike and support provided.

Altitude is the defining fact of this one. The riding happens between three and four thousand metres, where the air is thin, the surfaces change from tarmac to dust without warning, and llamas graze at the roadside. The operator rates the difficulty three out of five.

Lima opens it with a seaside villa, then a short flight to Cusco to acclimatise. The bikes are collected there and the first ride warms up through the Sacred Valley, with the circular terraces at Moray and the white pools of the Maras salt pans, where salt has been harvested the same way for centuries, and a night at a mountain lodge among the llamas. The Lares region follows, where the roads narrow and the villages thin out, then the descent to Santa Teresa and Machu Picchu, with a night at Aguas Calientes. Ollantaytambo and a high-altitude run south to Sicuani come next, then Rainbow Mountain with local riders taking the group to the viewpoint, the painted ridges of Pallay Punchu, and the Q’eswachaka rope bridge, still rewoven by the communities every year.

Nine nights in twin rooms across countryside hotels, mountain lodges and a final five-star night, breakfast daily and dinner on riding days, the Lima to Cusco flights, airport transfers, seven days of CFMOTO 450MT rental, the Maras visit, the Moray and Rainbow Mountain entries, a guided Machu Picchu tour with the train and bus, a local guide, a luggage support vehicle and technical support are all included; international flights, insurance, the motorcycle deposit, fuel and lunches are not. A private room is €990 and a Tenere 700 upgrade €600. Late September is the departure. The altitude needs respecting rather than underestimating.
