15 nights through Morocco

The longest run south the operator makes from Europe. Fifteen days in your own 4×4, from the ferry near Gibraltar deep into the Sahara and back up the Atlantic coast, on tracks that were once a rally route.

South of the Anti-Atlas the route follows the Draa Valley to the frontier town of Smara, and from there it goes out onto the old Paris to Dakar tracks and into open desert. That section is the reason to book: genuinely remote driving in country with no infrastructure, where the navigation matters and the group stays together.

The way home is just as good. The route turns west to the Atlantic and comes north up the Moroccan coast, taking in a run along the Plage Blanche, where the beach itself is the road for mile after mile. Camping throughout, all catered, with a day in Marrakech built into the way out.

Active 4×4 Adventures include all three meals a day for the duration, the open return ferries between Spain and Morocco, the Marrakech day and every campsite fee from start to finish. You bring the vehicle and its fuel, the insurance and green card, and get yourself to the ferry. The price is per person based on two adults sharing a vehicle. Unlike their Morocco trips, this one is not suitable for children under twelve, which is a fair reflection of how remote it gets. For drivers who want real desert rather than a desert excursion, this is the serious option in their range.
