Active NZ with Mighty Campers

Twenty nights across New Zealand in a campervan, built round the activities rather than the driving, with four nights at the end in Queenstown.

Auckland to Tauranga takes the first five days, opening with a skyjump off the Sky Tower, which is a controlled wire descent rather than a bungy, then the Coromandel with kayaking at Cathedral Cove and the glow worm caves near Tauranga.

Tauranga to Whanganui follows over five days, with the Rotorua geothermal fields, ziplining and the luge, hiking in Tongariro National Park and canoeing on the Whanganui River. Abel Tasman comes next across the Cook Strait, with three days of hiking, kayaking and snorkelling, then Franz Josef with an optional heli-hike onto the glacier and a jet boat in Mount Aspiring National Park at Wanaka. Queenstown takes four of the last five nights, with skydiving, bungy jumping and the rest of it available.

Two nights of Auckland hotel accommodation, eighteen nights of Mighty campervan hire with the inclusive pack, the Cathedral Cove kayaking and the Huka Falls jet boat are included; international flights are not, and most of the activities are optional extras booked locally. Twenty-one days at this price is the cheapest New Zealand itinerary in the range, which is what the Mighty fleet is for: the vans are simpler than the maui equivalents and the saving goes on the activities instead. Summer is the season, since most of these activities run on daylight and half of them involve water.
