9 nights through Italy

The premium tier of the operator’s Alpine range, which in practice means the hotels change rather than the roads get easier. Ten days through the Italian Alps with nine nights in upgraded properties in deliberately chosen locations, and the Stelvio and Gavia both on the route.

The Gavia arrives early, 2,618 metres and considerably narrower and wilder than the Stelvio, which makes it the better road of the two for most riders. The Etsch valley follows by way of Glorenza, a tiny walled town in South Tyrol, and then Cison di Valmarino over the Mendel Pass and through Merano.

The second half trades altitude for wine. Asolo comes via the San Boldo Pass, a road of hairpins stacked inside tunnels cut by hand in the First World War, then Monte Grappa and the Valdobbiadene hills where prosecco is made. Verona provides the rest day, a Roman city with an intact arena that still stages opera, and the setting Shakespeare chose for Romeo and Juliet. The Cereda Pass, Valpolicella and Lake Garda feature on the way back to Seefeld.

Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, the nine nights in the upgraded hotels, a guide and a tour book. Flights are separate, with a guided city tour of Innsbruck at 350 euros per person and the Alps riding preparation course at 420 euros. Prices are per person for 2026. The premium here buys evenings in better places rather than a softer itinerary, which is the right way round for most riders.
