Basque to Bordeaux Supercar Tour

Six nights from Bilbao to Bordeaux by supercar, a new route for 2027 built around the food and wine of two countries.

Bilbao is the start, on the rugged Atlantic shore of the Basque Country, where the pintxos bars are the local institution and the region holds more three-Michelin-starred kitchens per head than almost anywhere on earth. The Guggenheim is the other reason people stop there, and the coast road west of the city is the better driving of the two directions.

San Sebastian follows, with five-star accommodation above the Cantabrian Sea and a bay that is among the most photographed in Spain, then Biarritz over the French border, which was built as a resort for Napoleon III’s court and still looks it. Saint-Emilion closes the route in Bordeaux wine country, where the vineyards sit on limestone above a medieval village and the chateaux are visited rather than merely driven past, with the roads between them long, straight and lined with plane trees.

Access to a rotating fleet of current supercars for the driving days is included, along with five-star coastal and landmark accommodation throughout, Michelin-starred dining and access to the wine chateaux; international flights are not, and the price is quoted per person sharing. Seven days covering the Basque coast and Bordeaux is a food and wine tour with supercars attached rather than the reverse, which is the point. Spring and autumn are the seasons, with the Bordeaux harvest in late September, and the Basque coast is wet enough in winter to be worth avoiding.
