10 nights through Canada

Eleven days through British Columbia and Alberta from Vancouver, built around one of the best roads on the continent. The Canadian Rockies are the draw and the Icefields Parkway is the centrepiece.

The approach takes its time. Osoyoos Lake comes first in the Okanagan, which is desert country and warm enough for vineyards, then Nelson in the Kootenays, then Vernon and Golden. Vancouver Island and Whistler Blackcomb also feature. These are long days on good surfaces with very little traffic, which is the character of riding out here.

Lake Louise arrives by way of the Yellowhead Highway, and then the route runs through Banff and onto the Icefields Parkway, 230 kilometres between Lake Louise and Jasper with glaciers hanging off the peaks on both sides for most of it. Jasper National Park gets the rest day, and Mount Robson is on the route, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres. Bears and elk are common in these parks, and the standing advice about keeping a distance applies on a motorcycle more than in a car.

Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, ten nights across middle-range hotels and motels with some simpler accommodation in the north, a guide and a tour book. Flights are separate and the inclusions are not itemised in full on the operator’s page. Prices are per person for 2026. At 7,340 euros this is not cheap, but the scale of the scenery is beyond anything in Europe and the riding season is short, so dates go early.
