Coast to Coast Guided Motorcycle Tour - Los Angeles to Orlando

Pacific to Atlantic, the long way round. Seventeen days from Los Angeles to Orlando, sixteen nights and around 3,490 miles, which makes this the longest route EAGLERIDER runs anywhere. Guided throughout, and it takes the southern border route rather than Route 66.

The western half is the dramatic part. The Ortega Highway and the Pines to Palms road lead to Palm Springs, then Joshua Tree, a stretch of Route 66 at Amboy and the climb into Oatman. Jerome and Sedona follow on the longest day of the trip at 350 miles, then Pie Town and the Very Large Array, a field of twenty-seven enormous radio telescopes standing in the New Mexico desert. White Sands National Park and the Lincoln County Courthouse, where Billy the Kid made his last escape, come next.

Big Bend is the highlight. Two nights and a free day at Lajitas, with Texas Route 170 running along the Rio Grande, which is one of the finest and least-ridden roads in the country. Then Del Rio, the Twisted Sisters of the Texas Hill Country, the Alamo at San Antonio, and on through Houston to New Orleans for a free day, before the Gulf Coast carries the route to Pensacola, Perry and Daytona Beach.

EAGLERIDER provides the motorcycle, the tour leader, all sixteen nights and the group dinners, finishing with a celebration at Daytona. Fuel, most meals and insurance are arranged separately. For riders who want to say they crossed America, this is the trip that does it properly.
