13 nights through Greece

Fourteen days from Athens to Dubrovnik across six countries, one way, with the direction alternating by departure. It is the most history-dense tour the operator runs outside central Europe, and the second half goes somewhere almost nobody tours.

Greece supplies the first week. Nafplio comes by way of Corinth and Mycenae, the Bronze Age citadel that predates classical Greece by a thousand years. Kalamata follows, then Olympia, where the ancient games were held for over a millennium, then Delphi, which the Greeks considered the centre of the world.

Meteora is the highlight of the Greek leg. Monasteries built on top of sheer sandstone pillars in the fourteenth century, originally reached only by rope ladder, and the roads that wind among them are extraordinary. After that the route turns north into the southern Balkans: Butrint in Albania, a Greek and Roman city abandoned to the marshes, then a Lake Ohrid lookout and Mavrovo National Park in North Macedonia, then Biogradska Gora in Montenegro, which holds one of the last primeval forests in Europe, before the finish at Dubrovnik.

Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, thirteen nights in comfortable middle-range hotels, a guide and a tour book. Flights are separate, between Athens and Dubrovnik in whichever direction the departure runs, and the inclusions are not itemised in full on the operator’s page. Prices are per person for 2026. For a rider who wants the classical world and the least travelled corner of Europe in the same fortnight, nothing else in the range comes close.
