From the energy and colour of Ho Chi Minh City to the temples of Angkor and the riverside boulevards of Phnom Penh, Eastern Legends is a grand tour in every sense. A journey through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, combining spectacular driving roads, remarkable landscapes, fascinating history and some of the region’s most memorable places to stay.

Vietnam sets the pace. Follow the coast north from Ho Chi Minh City, through the beachside resorts of Nha Trang and Quy Nhon, before tackling the spectacular Hai Van Pass, where the road winds through the mountains above the South China Sea. Discover the imperial grandeur of Hue, with its citadel, royal tombs and an evening of traditional court music on the Perfume River. Venture underground into the vast caves of Phong Nha, cruise overnight through the limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay, then explore the bustling streets of Hanoi and the dramatic mountain landscapes around Sapa.

Laos offers a change of rhythm. Cross the mountains towards Dien Bien Phu before continuing to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city of golden temples, French colonial architecture and the turquoise cascades of Kuang Si. Follow the Mekong through the heart of the country, discovering riverside towns, dramatic limestone scenery and the contrasting characters of Pak Beng, Vang Vieng, Vientiane and Pakse.

Cambodia brings the journey to a spectacular close. In Siem Reap, explore the extraordinary temple complexes of Angkor Thom, the intricately carved Bayon and the atmospheric, jungle-embraced ruins of Ta Prohm. Then travel south to Phnom Penh, where Cambodia’s history, culture and contemporary life come together on the banks of the Mekong.

Throughout the journey, the experience extends well beyond the road.
