4 nights through Finland
Four nights at Levi in Finnish Lapland, guided, ice driving in Porsches at the operator’s entry level, with the price quoted on application.
This is the beginners’ programme and it is honest about it: the content runs from the theory of weight transfer and oversteer through to holding a slide safely, which is where everyone who has never done it needs to start.
Kittila airport opens it, with a shuttle to the Hotel Levi Panorama and a welcome dinner at Cloud11. Three driving days follow, each with breakfast and a briefing, then foundational drifting and safe-handling instruction on snow and ice in both rear and four-wheel-drive cars. Two additions set this level apart: a fast passenger ride in a Cayenne, which shows what the surface will actually take when someone who knows it is driving, and a session in ice karts, which teach car control at ten miles an hour rather than fifty and are a great deal of fun.
The cars are provided, from 911 Carrera and GTS variants to the electric Taycan, along with the Cayenne ride and the karts; the full inclusions were not itemised on the operator’s page and are worth confirming at booking. The price is given on application and will be the lowest of the Levi programmes. The programme runs in the depths of the northern winter. For a first experience of driving on ice, this is the right place to begin, and the karting makes it the one to consider with a less confident companion.
