The Lake District comes next for two, then Loch Lomond across the border, the Isle of Skye for two, Inverness for two, and Edinburgh for two to finish.

Late spring to early autumn gives the best of the weather, and September is the pick of it: the roads have emptied, Skye is manageable again and the light is better than in high summer. Three weeks is what Britain needs if the intention is to see it rather than drive through it. The car is collected around Bath rather than in London, which spares anyone the experience of driving in the capital.
