35 nights through India
Thirty-six days. Four extraordinary lands. One epic journey through the heart of the Himalayas.
From the colonial grandeur of Kolkata to the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal, Mystic Kingdoms is a Grand Tour across some of Asia’s most fascinating landscapes and cultures. A journey of ancient kingdoms, sacred temples, remote mountain roads, and extraordinary encounters, taking you from the plains of India to the roof of the world.
India sets the journey in motion. Discover Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial and the artisan quarter of Kumartuli before exploring the historic ruins of Gour and the wildlife-rich landscapes of Gorumara National Park. Cross into Bhutan, where spectacular mountain scenery leads to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched above the Paro Valley.
Bhutan and Nepal reveal their spiritual heritage. Explore Punakha Dzong and Thimphu’s monumental Buddha Dordenma before continuing to Kathmandu, with its remarkable Durbar Square and sacred Pashupatinath Temple.
Tibet delivers the ultimate Himalayan adventure. Cross the vast Tibetan Plateau towards the ancient Guge ruins and the remote shores of Lake Mapang Yongcuo. Discover Lhasa’s magnificent Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple before travelling towards Rongbuk Monastery, with its extraordinary views of Everest’s north face, then return to Nepal along the historic Sino-Nepal Friendship Highway.
The journey concludes in the heart of India. Encounter the wildlife of Chitwan National Park and visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, before continuing through Lucknow’s magnificent Mughal heritage to Agra. Here, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort provide a fitting finale, celebrated with a Farewell Gala Evening featuring the rich flavours of Mughlai cuisine.
Throughout, Classic Rallies brings together carefully selected hotels, guided cultural experiences, remarkable landscapes and the adventure of exploring these extraordinary regions by road, supported by a comprehensive road book and dedicated mechanical and medical assistance.
Mystic Kingdoms is not simply a driving tour. It is an opportunity to experience four distinct cultures, cross some of the world’s most remarkable landscapes and discover places few travellers ever reach.
Four lands. The roof of the world. One truly epic adventure.
