10 nights through Italy

Ten nights to the Dolomites, self-guided, based at Corvara for the middle of the trip, which RideWithUs list as their best seller.

The Champagne region and the Black Forest come first on the way out, then the Austrian Tyrol by way of the Silvretta High Alpine Road or the Arlberg Pass, with the Rhine Falls as an optional detour, which is the point at which the trip stops being a transit and starts being a holiday.

Corvara is reached over the Timmelsjoch, which carries the highest motorcycle museum in Europe at the top of it, and the Jaufen Pass. Three free days follow: the Sella Ronda circuit, which links the Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena passes in a loop of about fifty kilometres and is the best known piece of motorcycling road in the range; the Marmolada, reached by cable car to a Great War museum on the glacier; and the Falzarego Pass to Cortina d’Ampezzo and Lake Misurina. Sankt Moritz, the Fluela Pass and the B500 carry the route home.

Ten nights of bed and breakfast, eight evening meals and the return Eurotunnel crossing are included, along with the GPX routes and the itinerary; fuel, parking, admissions and the vignettes are not. Eleven days with three of them free from one base is the right shape for the Dolomites, where the good roads are concentrated enough to ride from a single hotel. The passes are generally open from late May to October and the Sella Ronda is busy at weekends.
