20 nights through Namibia

Twenty nights from Windhoek to Victoria Falls, entirely independent, with a fly-in Delta safari in the middle, with the price quoted on application.

One way across three countries is the shape, and the fly-in is what makes it work: the Okavango Delta cannot sensibly be driven into, so two days of it are reached by light aircraft and included in the price.

Windhoek opens it, then Sossusvlei and its dunes, Swakopmund on the coast, and Etosha for the game viewing round the waterholes. The Caprivi Strip follows east, a narrow finger of green country between four countries, then the Botswanan border and a cruise on the Chobe River, where elephant, hippo, crocodile and buffalo all come down to the water. The two-day fly-in safari into the Delta comes next, then Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe at the finish, where the Zambezi drops over a mile-wide front.

A 2×4 or 4×4 depending on the itinerary, the accommodation throughout and the two-day fly-in Delta safari are included; international flights, fuel, most meals and a long list of optional activities from quad biking to white water rafting are not. The price is given on application. The dry season from May to October is the window, when the game concentrates round the water. No wildlife sighting can be promised. Twenty-one days one way means flying home from Zimbabwe rather than Namibia, which is worth costing in early. Three countries and a flight into the Delta makes this the most complete itinerary in the operator’s range, and the Caprivi in the middle is the part most people do not expect: water, woodland and villages after two weeks of desert.
