Coast, Cowboys and Cascades of Oregon
Depoe Bay, home to the world’s smallest navigable harbour, comes first, then Mount Hood, Oregon’s highest peak – thirteen nights across Oregon’s coast and Cascades.

13 nights through United States
Thirteen nights around Oregon, self-guided, with three days of white water rafting in the middle of it.
The rafting is what makes this one unusual. Three days and two nights on the Rogue River with riverside camping, a crew and all the meals, dropped into the middle of a hotel-based road trip, which is a genuine change of gear rather than an afternoon excursion.
Portland opens it for a night at the Ritz-Carlton, then Bend for two by way of Mount Hood, the highest point in the state, with the Deschutes River nearby and the Painted Hills in the John Day Fossil Beds within reach. Merlin follows for two at the Weasku Inn, a 1920s riverfront fishing lodge, reached through Crater Lake National Park, where a collapsed volcano holds the deepest lake in the country. The rafting comes next, with black bears along the banks a real possibility though never a promise. Gold Beach follows for two at Tu Tu Tun Lodge, then Newport for two aboard a converted paddle steamer houseboat, reached up the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway past Heceta Head and the Sea Lion Caves, with a whale watching trip from Depoe Bay, which has the smallest navigable harbour in the world.
A mid-size hire car with full cover, the accommodation, the rafting trip with all its meals, drinks, crew and camping equipment and the Depoe Bay whale trip are included; flights, most meals, entrance fees, city tax and a resort fee at Tu Tu Tun are not. The price shown is per person sharing. June to September is the window for the river.
