17 nights through Chile

Seventeen nights from Osorno to Ushuaia, fully guided and now sold only to private groups, with named guides, the best hotels available on the route and BMW electronic diagnostic support carried with the group. The hire is included, with a long upgrade list.

Bariloche comes first through Puyehue and Nahuel Huapi, then Trevelin and Los Alerces National Park, and Puyuhuapi back in Chile at the start of the Carretera Austral with Corcovado National Park alongside.

Coihaique follows through the Queulat rainforest, then Puerto Tranquilo on Lago General Carrera with a rest day and the Marble Caves, and Los Antiguos and Gobernador Gregores on Ruta 40. El Calafate gets a rest day for the Perito Moreno glacier with Fitz Roy in view.

The Strait of Magellan crossing to Cerro Sombrero is worth watching from the deck, since Commerson’s dolphins work those waters and are small, piebald and unmistakable. Ushuaia follows with the national park, then Rio Grande, the penguins at Harberton, Bahia Lapataia and the southernmost post office in the world, a second ferry to Punta Arenas, and two days at Torres del Paine with the option of the W Trek. Prices are quoted in US dollars. Being a private-group product changes the character of this one entirely: the group is whoever books it, and the support level is the highest the operator offers anywhere. For a club, a family or a set of friends who want Patagonia without strangers in the convoy, that is the whole proposition, and the diagnostic support means an electronic fault on a modern BMW need not end anyone’s trip.
