Pyrenees: Heading West

Six days driving your own supercar the length of the Pyrenees, from the Costa Brava to the Atlantic at San Sebastian, in an escorted convoy with five nights in five-star hotels. The clever part is that there are two groups on the same route.

Jake leads a driver-focused group covering 880 miles with longer days and shorter stops. James leads a scenic group covering 630 miles at a gentler pace. Both finish each day at the same hotel, which solves the problem every group drive has, where the people who came to drive and the people who came for the scenery end up compromising on both.

The hotels are the other half of it. Night one is a Michelin-key property with its own winery, spa and golf course. Night three is the hotel built into the old Canfranc railway station, a vast 1920s building in the mountains that spent decades abandoned. Night four is a boutique five-star in France with Michelin-starred dining, and the run finishes above the Bay of Biscay at San Sebastian. In between, the route climbs the Spanish passes, crosses Catalonia’s national park and the country around Andorra, and works back and forth across the border.

Curatus include the escorted convoy with lead drivers and handheld radios, all five nights, every meal including three-course dinners, spa access where available, professional photography and a digital itinerary. Flights, crossings and spa treatments are separate, and car transport from the UK is offered as an extra. The price is per car for two people, not per person.
