Off-Road 6 Day Tour: Sahara Experience

Seven nights from Marrakech across the north-western Sahara, guided, six days on an enduro bike, in a buggy or in a 4×4.

This is the operator’s signature trip and the only one that takes 4x4s as well, which widens it considerably: a family or a group of mixed ability can do the same route in different vehicles.

Marrakech opens it at a hotel outside the city with a welcome dinner and a briefing. The route then climbs into the Atlas to 2,400 metres before going off-road, following part of the historic Paris-Dakar path. Boumalne Dades comes first, then Merzouga at Erg Chebbi, M’Hamid, Foum Zguid, Agdz and back through Boumalne Dades to Marrakech, covering around 1,250 kilometres. Traditional settlements and nomadic villages where Berber communities still live fall along the way, and the operator makes the fair claim that every day is different. A party in the middle of the week is part of it.

Five days of bike or buggy rental or six of 4×4, seven nights in desert hotels on a shared twin basis, the welcome dinner, three meals a day throughout, GPS in every vehicle, a support truck with driver and mechanic, drinking water, guiding, and entertainment and music are all included; flights, airport transfers, medical insurance with repatriation, gear and a returnable deposit of €700 for the bike, €2,000 for the buggy or €4,000 for a Land Cruiser are not. It runs six times a year, in February, March, April, October, November and December, with children welcome on the October departure by special arrangement. October to April is the window.
