Southern California Motorcycle Tour - 3 Day

A weekend’s worth of Southern California’s best coast road. Three days out of Los Angeles, two nights and only around 395 miles, which makes this the shortest and most relaxed ride in the range.

Day one heads north on Highway 1 through Malibu and Santa Barbara, then turns inland over the San Marcos Pass before continuing to Santa Maria. At 165 miles it is the longest day of the three, and much of it is spent with the Pacific on the left and very little reason to hurry.

The middle day is the varied one. San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay come first, with the Morro Rock sitting offshore like a misplaced mountain, then the route turns inland across the La Panza range towards the citrus groves and spa town of Ojai before dropping to the coast at Ventura. The final morning is a gentle 90 miles through Santa Paula and Fillmore, finishing on the curves of Mulholland Drive above Los Angeles.

EAGLERIDER provides the motorcycle and books both nights, with Harley-Davidson touring models alongside Triumph and BMW sport machines. Fuel, meals and insurance are handled separately. With distances this short and no group to keep pace with, there is time to stop properly in Santa Barbara or spend an hour at Morro Bay rather than photographing it from the saddle. For a first taste of riding in California, or a long weekend tacked onto a trip to Los Angeles that was going to be spent in the city anyway, it is hard to better.
