5 nights through Switzerland

Five nights of supercar driving across Switzerland, guided, from Zurich to Lake Lucerne by way of the high Alps, with the price quoted on application.

The first drive runs through the Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve, a protected landscape of moorland and karst between Lucerne and Bern, down to the shores of Lakes Thun and Brienz. Andermatt comes next, high in the Alps, where the hotel is a ski property and the dining and the cocktails are part of the arrangement.

Andermatt sits at the junction of the passes, which is why the tour bases itself there. The golden trio of Susten, Furka and Grimsel can be linked in a single loop, with the Gotthard, Lukmanier and Oberalp available as well, and a half-day loop takes in the Fluela, the northern side of the Stelvio and the Julier. A lake cruise breaks up the driving before the finish on Lake Lucerne, with an optional final day in Geneva for the Patek Philippe museum and the watchmaking history.

Access to a rotating fleet of current supercars for the driving days is included, along with five-star boutique hotels, lakeside chateaux and ski chalets throughout, gourmet dining and the lake cruise; international flights and the Geneva day are not. Six days of this is as concentrated a run of good road as Europe offers, and the passes are generally open from late May to October. Switzerland also enforces its speed limits with more enthusiasm than most, which is worth knowing before setting off in something conspicuous. The guided format on this one is also the right call, since a wrong turn in the high Alps costs a pass rather than ten minutes.
