12 nights through Thailand

Thirteen days, guided, on a Honda NX500, through the mountains of northern Thailand.

The operator describes northern Thailand as offering some of the finest motorcycle riding in Southeast Asia, and this tour is a journey through the heart of the ancient Lanna Kingdom. It covers about 2,000 km on mountain roads that connect remote valleys, traditional villages and cultural centres, and the operator rates the difficulty as easy, with roads described as well engineered, with sweeping corners and long stretches of smooth asphalt. The group is supported by a vehicle, crew and mechanic.

The ride begins in Chiang Mai, the historic gateway to the northern highlands. From there the route climbs to the cooler mountain air of Doi Inthanon and winds through forested hills toward quiet border regions where traffic fades. Over the following days the road twists through jungle valleys and limestone peaks, with overnight stops at remote towns such as Mae Sariang, Pai and Chiang Dao. Further north is the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet along the Mekong River, and scenic riverside roads offer a change of pace. The journey then turns east towards Phu Chi Fa and Nan, highland routes with continuous curves, light traffic and wide views across layered mountain ranges. Ancient temples, hill tribe communities, local markets and traditional villages give regular reasons to stop.

The price is per rider, with a lower pillion rate and a single supplement of US$650. It includes the motorcycle, fuel and spares, hotels and lodges, breakfast, dinner, snacks and beverages, local and international guides, a support vehicle with crew and mechanic, airport transfers and entrance fees. Lunch is not listed as included. Flights, visa, insurance and alcohol are extra. The listed departure is 4 to 17 December 2027, with a maximum of 12 riders.
