15 nights through United States

Fifteen nights in a loop from Anchorage in a motorhome, round the Alaskan road network, with the flights included.

Anchorage takes the first night in a hotel, with its museums of Native Alaskan history, then Seward for two, where the mountains come down to the water and a cruise can be taken into Kenai Fjords past calving glaciers and seabird colonies. Girdwood follows, with the aerial tram up Alyeska.

Valdez comes next down the coast road, at the end of the pipeline and the start of Prince William Sound, with boat trips and sea kayaking available. Glennallen follows on the Richardson Highway, by way of the Worthington Glacier and Keystone Canyon, then Fairbanks across the Alaska Range, with moose and caribou along the way, the Chena River recreation area and Pioneer Park. Denali comes next, six million acres of wilderness, with a narrated backcountry tour, and Talkeetna, which has the best road-level view of Denali itself.

Flights, a night in an Anchorage hotel, thirteen nights of motorhome hire sleeping up to three with a seventeen-hundred-mile pack and insurance, and the Denali natural history tour are included; national park entrance fees are payable locally. Sixteen days is a fair pace for Alaska, where the road network is limited and the distances between towns are long. The season runs roughly June to early September, and Denali is visible on perhaps one day in three, since the mountain makes its own weather. No wildlife sighting can be promised, though moose on the roadside are close to routine and bears are regularly seen on the Denali tour.
