9 nights through Italy

European Bike Week at Faaker See draws tens of thousands of riders to a lake in southern Austria every September, and this guided tour is built around getting there the interesting way. Ten days from Treviglio, nine nights and around 890 miles, crossing Italy, Austria and Slovenia.

The Dolomites come first and they are not a warm-up. Endine Lake, the Tonale and Mendola passes and the Sciliar massif lead to Val Gardena, then a long day takes in the Sella, Pordoi and Falzarego passes, the Misurina Lake and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo before crossing into Austria at Lienz. That is a considerable amount of famous tarmac in two days.

Then the rally. The tour is based at Villach for the Faaker See gathering, with a day loop through Slovenia for anyone who would rather ride than wander the stalls. Afterwards the route heads south to Venice by way of Udine and its castle, with a free day in Venice, then returns through Verona to Treviglio for a farewell dinner and party.

EAGLERIDER provides the motorcycle, the tour leader, all nine nights and the group dinners. Fuel, most meals and insurance are arranged separately, and prices are quoted in US dollars.
