12 nights through Vietnam

Twelve nights in a circuit from Hanoi, guided, 1,500 kilometres through the mountains of northern Vietnam on a Honda NX500.

Hanoi opens it, where the Old Quarter is a thousand years of street plan with motorbikes threaded through it, then the route heads north to Ba Be Lake, a freshwater lake among limestone hills with Tay villages on the shore.

Meo Vac and Ha Giang follow, which is the reason to book this: the Ha Giang loop runs along the Chinese border through the Dong Van karst plateau, with the Ma Pi Leng pass above a gorge where the road was cut by hand into a cliff face in the 1960s. Bac Ha comes next with its Sunday market, then Sapa, where the rice terraces climb the valleys in steps under Fansipan, and Mu Cang Chai, where they do the same with fewer visitors. Phu Yen and Mai Chau close the circuit back to Hanoi.

Accommodation in inns, resorts and hotels in single or double rooms, the airport transfers, the Honda NX500, all the meals, a guide, first aid, mechanics with spares, a chase vehicle with a mechanic, tools and spares, all the fees and permits and the drinking water are all included; the Vietnam visa, flights, medical insurance, gratuities, alcohol and any damage to the motorcycle are not.
