11 nights through Georgia

Twelve days, guided, on a CFMoto 450 MT, through the Caucasus in Georgia and Armenia.

The operator describes Georgia as lying at the crossroads of East and West, bridging Asia and Europe, with Armenia to the south bordering Iran and offering a completely different atmosphere. The tour runs from the Black Sea beaches to the Caucasus Mountains, which it calls the tallest range in Europe, at about 2,250 km and four to six hours of riding a day. The operator rates it intermediate on all terrain, and other bikes are available.

Day one in Tbilisi is for the briefing, a look at the route and a first evening in Georgia’s capital. Day two heads to Oni through mountain passes and dense forest, with twisty roads and a day deep in the Caucasus. Day three is a rugged ride to Ushguli, a remote Svaneti village that is a UNESCO World Heritage site, riding past its ancient defence towers. Day four descends to Batumi on the Black Sea coast, with its modern waterfront, for a change of pace after the wild terrain. The route map shows Vardzia in southern Georgia before the border and, in Armenia, Yerevan, Dilijan, Hermon and Goris. A photo caption names Zagari pass.

The price is per rider, with a lower pillion rate and a single supplement of US$525. It covers the motorcycle and fuel, hotels and family-run guesthouses, all meals, local and international guides, a support vehicle with crew and mechanic, airport transfers and entrance fees. Flights, visa, insurance and alcohol are extra. The operator lists a maximum of 12 riders.
