18 nights through Bolivia

Nineteen days across Bolivia, guided, on a supplied Suzuki DR650SE, covering 2,970 km and linking the Salar de Uyuni, Lake Titicaca and the Death Road.

Highlander 2 is for riders who want to see all of Bolivia’s highlights and ride a lot of dirt road, without anything too difficult for an average motorcyclist. The operator rates it Medium, with 30 percent dirt, and reaches a highest riding point of 4,650 metres. It calls the result a tour filled with extremes, on a selection of the best motorcycle roads available.

The first week follows the Ruta del Che to Sucre and Tarabuco, then Potosi and its silver mines, and Uyuni, with a full day on the salt flat. The route then crosses the altiplano by Oruro to Copacabana on Lake Titicaca, where a day trip by boat visits the Island of the Sun and the Island of the Moon. La Paz follows, with a funicular ride over the city, then the Death Road to Coroico. The Yungas section is the hardest stretch: 80 km to Chulumani and 195 km to Quime are both 100 percent dirt, on narrow tracks past ravines and river crossings. The group returns through Cochabamba and Totora.

Each price is per rider and covers the Suzuki DR650SE, tourist-class hotels, three meals a day, entrances, local guides, road tolls and fuel, with airport pickup at Viru-Viru in Santa Cruz and a 4WD support vehicle following the group. Scheduled groups are capped at six. Riders bring their own helmet and riding gear, book their own flights, and need travel insurance with adrenaline cover. The 3 to 21 October 2026 departure was under way on the date of this check, so the next scheduled dates are in 2027.
