Lakes, Dolomites & Prosecco Self-Guided Tour

The Dolomites, the Italian lakes and the Prosecco hills, in nine days with almost no transit. Eight nights from Treviglio and only around 607 miles, which is the shortest total of any week-long tour in the range and entirely the point.

Lake Iseo and the Western Gardesana road along Lake Garda open the trip, a corniche cut through a series of tunnels in the rock face high above the water. Then the route climbs into the Dolomites proper over the Rolle, Cereda and Cibiana passes to Cortina d’Ampezzo, and a day ride from there takes in the Falzarego and Valparola passes, a First World War museum high on the Valparola, and the Giau Pass.

Val Badia is the base for the best of it. The Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo passes form a loop through the UNESCO-listed Sella Group that is among the finest motorcycle riding in Europe, with the Fedaia Pass below the Marmolada glacier available as an extra. The Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the pale water of Braies Lake both sit nearby. The route then drops to Valdobbiadene and the Prosecco wine road before returning.
