7 nights through the Alps.

A Porsche is the right tool for an Alpine week, and this one puts you in a Cayman GT4 or a 911 Targa GTS for seven nights out of Munich. It starts where the cars are made and ends up on some of the highest paved roads in Switzerland and Austria.

Day two goes to Stuttgart for the Porsche museum and factory before the Black Forest delivers you to Baden-Baden. From there the route crosses to Zurich, then climbs the Oberalp and the Albula, the latter running alongside the Glacier Express railway, into St Moritz. A full day in the Engadin offers a choice: the Stelvio, Umbrail and Ofen passes in a loop through Italy and Livigno, or the Glacier Express itself over the Landwasser viaduct with the car left behind. The last driving day takes the Kaunertal glacier road to around 2,700 metres, then the Hahntennjoch into Bavaria.

The hotels are the kind that make a driving week feel like a holiday: the Charles in Munich at either end, Roomers in Baden-Baden, Alex Lake Zürich on the water, two nights at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in the Engadin and the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol above Seefeld.

Cars are Porsche only, which is the point. You drive independently with a curated route, an eRoadbook and navigation paired to the car, and the season runs May to October because several of these passes are shut the rest of the year. It suits anyone who has wanted to take a Porsche over the Albula and would rather do it on their own schedule than in a convoy of twenty.
