Sydney to Perth Guided Motorcycle Tour

Crossing Australia from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean takes three weeks and most of a continent. This guided ride covers 6,476 kilometres in twenty days, from Sydney Harbour to Perth, and the Nullarbor Plain sits right in the middle of it.

The first week is the green half. The Grand Pacific Drive and the Seacliff Bridge lead out of Sydney, then the Snowy Mountains and the Victorian High Country to Melbourne, then the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians. South Australia follows with its coast, Adelaide, the Clare Valley vineyards and the ochre ridges of the Flinders Ranges.

Then the continent empties out. The Eyre Peninsula gives way to the Nullarbor, a limestone plateau with the longest straight road in the country running across it and nothing either side but saltbush and sky. It is the sort of riding that tends to stay with people long after the tan has gone. Esperance and Albany bring the Southern Ocean back, then Margaret River’s wineries and Busselton before Perth.
