Seven nights at Banya near Bansko, guided, on an enduro bike across the Bulgarian mountains, with no motorcycle licence required.

This is the longest trip the operator runs, and the length is what it is for: a full week of riding in country that holds three separate mountain ranges within reach of a single base, which very few European destinations can offer.

The base is Enduro Max’s spa hotel at Banya, a mineral water village a few kilometres from Bansko, and the riding days head into the Rila, the Pirin and the Rhodope mountains with a guide, returning each evening to the hotel’s thermal pools. The full day-by-day itinerary was not available on the operator’s page, so the routes are worth asking for at booking, though the format follows the shorter trips: a briefing on arrival, guided riding at a pace matched to ability, lunch out at a village restaurant and a different route home each afternoon.

The bikes are GasGas models from 2022 onwards, and the price covers the bike, the guiding and the accommodation; the detailed inclusions were not itemised on the page and are worth confirming at booking. The price shown is per person sharing. Eight days at this price, with the bike and the hotel in it, is remarkable value against anything comparable in western Europe, which is most of the reason riders make the trip. Spring and autumn suit the trail conditions best, and a week allows for a rest day if the legs give out.
