4 nights through Italy

Four nights from Florence to Rome, guided, through Tuscany and Umbria in a supercar with the car supplied.

This is a supercar tour that remembers to be a holiday. Truffle hunting near San Miniato, the hot springs at Saturnia and a night in Perugia are not filler between driving days; they are the reason the itinerary is shaped the way it is.

Florence opens it at the Piazzale Michelangelo, with the city laid out below. San Miniato comes first for the truffle hunt, in hills that produce some of the largest white truffles found anywhere, then San Gimignano with its surviving medieval towers, and a countryside hotel. The Chianti wine roads follow through Greve to Siena. Pienza, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno carry the route into Umbria for Perugia and Assisi. Rasiglia, a village built around its own streams, Spello and clifftop Orvieto come next, then the sulphur terraces at Saturnia, where the water leaves the ground at thirty-seven degrees. Pitigliano and Civita di Bagnoregio close the drive into Rome.

The choice of high-end supercar, boutique and five-star hotels, gourmet and local restaurant meals, the fuel with a refuelling service and private parking are all included; flights, tolls, traffic fines and a refundable security deposit of between €3,500 and €6,500 depending on the car are not. Spring and autumn are the seasons, since Tuscany in August is hot and full. Five days from Florence to Rome with the meals and the fuel covered is an unusually complete arrangement, and the refuelling service is a small thing that matters when a supercar drinks as much as these do. The security deposit is worth planning for rather than discovering at handover.
